This four-scene theatrical performance interrogates fictive kinship amongst black and African American women and how diasporic identities interact with and conflict with American virtues. The United States of America has always benefited from the presence of blackness. What happens when your blackness is not "American"? What happens when you want to fit in where you don't belong?

This piece was created as part of Artist Elevating Immigrant Narratives, a site-specific performance in Prospect Park produced by The Creator’s Collective.
